Drypoint Workshop

Drypoint is an intaglio technique where lines and textures are incised into a plate, creating a raised burr which captures the ink creating a soft, irregular, velvety line.  Using clear drypoint plastic, you can create plates freehand or by tracing a reversed image placed beneath the plate.  Multiple colours can be used by adding directly to the plate (à la poupée), overprinting/ layering or hand colouring once dry. You will learn how to create your print using line and tone, ink and wipe your plate, soak paper and create a series of unique prints.

Please bring:

• An apron or old clothes you don’t mind getting ink on
• A packed lunch
• Something to inspire you
• Your creativity!
